Newsletter August 2006

After being very busy due to the huge success of our apartment rentals (for which we would like to thank everyone), we have now again found time to set up and send a monthly newsletter. Our regular customers will see that it has a totally new layout.

This year we again managed to meet our customers' wishes by providing the requested accommodations. Don't forget to book in time, as it is becoming more difficult every time to find available apartments during busy times of the year.

It is high summer in Barcelona and Amsterdam now and the temperatures are reaching record heights. But don't panic: both places offer excellent opportunities to get cool.

We hope you'll enjoy reading this newsletter and wish you a pleasant stay!

Parc de la Ciutadella - Barcelona

« previous 1/11 next picture »

The Parc de la Ciutadella in the El Borne neighbourhood is a 15-minute walk from the Barrio Gótico.

The park has recently undergone an extensive renovation and is very much worth a visit.

It is a true oasis of calm in the middle of the busy city, with a lot of vegetation, paths, playing grounds for the kids and great locations to sit down and relax or have a nice siesta in the shade of a tree.

Up to and including the first week of September there will be live jazz music near the waterfall every Wednesday and Friday, starting at ten 'o clock in the evening. The interesting zoo can be found in this park, as well as a pond on which you can drift around in a boat for a fee of 2 euros per person for half an hour.

Amsterdam - To the beach in "Happyville"

Blijburg ('Happyville') is the name of the beach created on the artificial islands to the east of the city. In the future, this will be a residential area for 45,000 people living in futuristic homes of high architectural standards.

But before that project is completed, each summer the area including the lake will be converted into a nice beach with all amenities one could think of. There is a bar/restaurant with delicious dishes and live concerts of bands and DJ's, but there also are plenty of locations to have a nice picnic.

Happyville is open from 10 o'clock in the morning till late in the evening, from Wednesday to Monday. It can be reached with tram line 26 from Central Station, or by a 30-minute bicycle ride from the city centre.
